Delivering world-leading sustainment and support for Australia’s LHD and LLC assets
Babcock provides the support and sustainment program for two Canberra Class Landing Helicopter Dock (LHD), HMA Ships Canberra and Adelaide, and 12 LHD Landing Craft (LLC) at the Garden Island Defence Precinct.
After an initial six-month phase-in period, starting in December 2018, the sustainment program commenced from mid-June 2019. Pivotal to success of this project is close collaboration with Navy and the creation of over 1,000 direct and indirect jobs across Australia, growing the capability of Australia’s SME defence industry.
